SPECIAL SERIES: GETTING THE BEST YOU IN 2016 PART 3: IMPROVE YOUR CONFIDENCE, UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL

Working in the beauty industry we see so many beautiful, amazing women who, for some strange reason, don’t see how wonderful they really are. I think that’s probably because the world we live in today breeds beauty and success standards for women that are nearly impossible to achieve.

The good news is that you can fight against these crazy unattainable standards and find confidence in the person you are today! Here are a few tips on how you can do it!

Tip #1: Don’t listen to that negative little voice inside your head

You know that voice that tells you to lose a few pounds or that your nose is too big? Well, tell that voice to be quiet. I know this may be easier said than done, but when you make a conscious effort to shut that voice out of your head, you might be surprised at the results! Try saying, “Stop” out loud whenever you hear this voice creeping in.

Tip #2: Write down something great about yourself every day

Take a blank sheet of lined paper and write something down that you like about yourself or what you were able to achieve that day. Then, each day reread the things from the days’ prior. This will help you to realize how truly powerful you are and the impact you are making on those around you.

Tip #3: Stop aiming for perfection

No one is perfect, so please stop trying to achieve it. Also, you strive only for perfection, you probably won’t get much done. Instead, set a new standard for yourself, which could be working toward YOUR personal best. With each task, ask yourself if you did everything you could to complete it doing your best.

Tip #4 Quit comparing yourself to other people

We are all unique and have different features and gifts that make us special. Keep this in mind each time you find jealousy or comparative thoughts about someone else creeping in. Instead, try comparing yourself today to the woman you were several years ago, focusing on how you’ve grown and improved as well as what you know you can achieve in the future.
