Freda Ansara

Makeup Artist, Founder of FREDA Cosmetics product line  and Owner of Faces by FREDA and Salon FREDA.

For the past 10 years, Freda has been servicing clients in her own high-end cosmetics boutique in Novi, MI, Faces by Freda. She chose to grow her business in Michigan because it has always been home to her. Her mother and father instilled the value of family and of humility, and raised her with the mindset to take care of others and to see the beauty in all things. That perspective has stayed with Freda through her years in business, and helped her develop a team of like-minded women and give them an opportunity to blossom. She often refers to her team as family, and it’s clear that that bond is an important one.

Five years into owning Faces by Freda, she saw an opportunity to grow and wanted more. Which is what led to the opening of Salon Freda, a full service hair salon located just a few doors down from the boutique. Freda has built her brand on the idea that every woman is beautiful regardless of age, race, or social background.

Fenix Ansara

Fenix has been in the beauty industry for, what seems like, his whole life. Prior to joining Faces by FREDA and Salon FREDA, he perfected his client relationship skills with freelance residential work in Novi. Today Fenix is known across the Detroit area as one of the city’s premier experts in greeting. Constantly striving to perfect his craft, Fenix undergoes continuing education with both positive and negative reinforcement from his mom.

Tina Ivezaj

Expert Stylist and Brand Ambassador

Putting life in the phrase ‘je ne sais quoi’ Tina’s European background inspires her to bring new cut and color concepts to the industry. Trained by a master stylist for over a year, she has traveled nationally for extensive training on the latest cut and color techniques. Advancing her education, Tina is known to Oribe as a Brand Ambassador. Tina has also been fully trained and specializes in Keratin Smoothing Treatments, the Brazilian Blowout and hair extensions.

Mary Edmonds

Makeup Artist and Eyebrow Specialist

Mary Edmonds has earned an admirable reputation for bringing out her clients’ best features. Well-known for sculpting incredible eyebrows, Mary takes great pride in listening intently to her clients’ wishes. When you come to Faces by FREDA, you can expect much more than just a quick eyebrow waxing. “I take time to educate my clients on the art of achieving the perfect arch. By showing them how to properly use brow powder, they can maintain their beautiful brows in-between visits.” From achieving flawless-looking skin to creating camera-ready eyes, Mary also delivers consistently amazing results during her makeup sessions. Prior to joining Faces by Freda, she perfected her makeup artistry skills at Lancôme and was a freelance makeup artist with an emphasis on weddings.

Kara Richardson

Expert Stylist and Brand Ambassador

Kara’s success in her career stems from the inseparable relationships she creates with her clients. “Your hair should look gorgeous when you’re at the salon, and days after you’ve stepped out of the salon,” she says. From extensive training in New York, she represents Oribe as a Brand Ambassador. In addition, she has gone through extensive training with Kérastase and attended the Goldwell Trend Zoom conference in Las Vegas. She is also an expert in extensions and with mid-length to long hair. For adding beautiful body, texture or color, Kara recommends using extensions.

Shawna Holowicki

Hair Stylist

With 20 years of hairdressing experience, Shawna is a color specialist trained in Goldwell, Redken, and Schwarzkopf techniques. She adores creating beautiful blondes and low-maintenance colors that enhance your natural beauty. Shawna is also skilled in Brazilian Blowouts. Her passion is making you feel beautiful because when you look good, you feel incredible. Let’s bring out your natural features with custom colors that truly pop.
