SPECIAL SERIES: GETTING THE BEST YOU IN 2016 PART 1: MAKING THIS THE YEAR YOU REFOCUS AND RECHARGE YOURSELF

Hard to believe, but we are already a week into 2016! At Faces by Freda and Salon Freda, we want 2016 to be the best year ever for our wonderful clients. To help ensure that happens, each week we will be highlighting topics that we hope will inspire you to go out and accomplish the goals you have for yourself this year.

To kick us off, here are our best recharging tips for 2016:

Tip #1: Focus on getting quality sleep, not just a lot of it.

New research even proves it, people who wake up several times a night report much lower positivity in their mood than those who experience shorter, uninterrupted sleep. Ensure you are getting the best quality Z’s by preparing your sleeping arrangements perfectly – from the right pillow to turning the phone to silent, set up your environment for consistent sleep in advance.

Tip #2: Take care of your skin

It may be as small as vowing to not go to bed with makeup on this year, or maybe it’s committing to an entire skincare regimen to battle a specific condition, there are a number of ways to get a more rejuvenated skin appearance. Maybe even commit to simply drinking half your body weight in ounces of water per day, as that alone can drastically improve your skin!

Tip #3: Take time out for you

Even if you only have 15 minutes a day to sit down and reflect on your goals, take it. Start this time by asking yourself; “what am I doing for myself today that is making me feel happy?” Whatever it is, use the time to plan how you can schedule more time for the things that you truly enjoy.

Tip #4: Get active

Although it may seem a bit predictable to suggest doing exercise in the New Year, it’s an important aspect of feeling recharged. Even 20 minutes a day of increased activity can help to improve energy levels, attitude, and your overall health.
