You may have tried several different ways to get that smooth, flawless finish when it comes to foundation. From a concealer brush, sponge, or just your fingertips, it might seem as if everyone you talk to has a different way they swear is the best method. The best and most trusted way to apply foundation is using a foundation brush. The tool truly gives you an airbrush finish because it allows you to get in all the nooks of your face where you might just want a little more detailed work and coverage. It also allows you to easily apply just a sheer layer of coverage or simply add a little extra on for complete coverage. To apply, start with a little bit on the back of your hand. Some women make the mistake of pumping or pouring the foundation directly onto the brush, and that will give you too much product that will only adhere to one spot, versus spreading evenly across your skin. Dip your brush and use upward strokes when applying, (don’t pull your skin in a downward motion, it’s not good for your skin!) then flip your brush over to a clean side to blend the edges and around the neckline. Also, when selecting a foundation, choose the color that matches you the closest to avoid that “mask” look around the jawline.
Remember when using a foundation brush, you deposit 100% of the makeup onto your face, versus using a sponge or fingers where some of the product is left behind and can get soaked up in the sponge. So, apply with restraint to make sure you don’t waste your product.
Also, keep in mind that if you invest in a quality brush it will invest in you with a flawless finish. A good brush is an investment that can last you the rest of your life with proper care.
