I’ve been in the skincare and makeup business for years, but lately, I am shocked at what I’m reading online when it comes to the best tips and tricks to get a flawless makeup application. It’s definitely true what they say, you can’t trust everything you read on the Internet! But rest assured, I’ve seen it all, from hectic wedding days to concerned clients who are looking for solutions to seemingly every makeup question. So, I’ve come to find a few of the “tricks of the trade” that truly deliver amazing results in some unique ways. And as you know, we always want to share our expertise with our clients so they too can get all the secrets to amazing makeup applications.
So, here are FREDA’s Best Secret Makeup Tricks:
Smudged mascara?
Resist the temptation to clean it off right away! If you simply wait a few minutes for it to dry, then use a Q-Tip to wipe away, it will come right off instead of smudging further.
Can’t seem to get your eyeliner smooth?
Rest both of your elbows on your bathroom or vanity top during the application. When you keep your elbows on a flat surface while applying, it prevents an uneven line and adds stability for the perfect application.
Want more full-looking lashes?
Before applying your mascara, add a full application of lash primer. This will help your mascara look fuller and add volume. It’s also common to need to add more than one layer of mascara for each application.
Losing your liner before the day ends?
If you have the problem of your bottom eyeliner not staying on all day, try adding your shadow primer UNDERNEATH your eyes as well as on top. (Read more from FREDA about makeup primers here!)
Want longer-lasting lips?
Filling in your entire lip with lipliner BEFORE applying a lipstick will keep it on a lot longer. Matte will last longer than high shine glosses as well. We have both in our store!
