If you’re anything like us, this warmer weather is making our perfect makeup harder to achieve. Each year around this time, we get several women asking us how we can help them get their makeup looking fresh and fabulous for as long as possible. And trust me, we understand the pain!
You might be curious if makeup primers are your answer. Here at Faces by FREDA, we know a thing or two about primers, and we’ve got all the answers you need to get the freshest face possible this summer season!
Although there are a ton of primers to choose from, there are two main types, foundation primer for the face and shadow primer for the eyes. Both of these will help your makeup last longer. Here’s what you need to know about each one:
Shadow Primers:
Shadow primers work to set the shadow, extend the wear time, and prevent creasing. Here at Faces, we have a primer available called ‘Shadow Magnet’ which comes with a creamy and full consistency. You simply apply a small amount to the eyelid area before your shadow and liner. Remember that primer with a softer, slicker texture tend to create more oil and that can cause quicker creasing than without a primer. No one wants that! And another perk of shadow primer – it helps improve the pigmentation of your shadow colors, too! It’s worth a try during these crazy humid days!
Foundation Primers:
Although shadow primers can be used every day, we don’t suggest using a foundation primer all the time because unfortunately, they can clog pores. Additionally, because they are silicone-based, they aren’t always the best solution for those with more oily skin. But for a special event or an extra-long day of meetings, they can be an excellent way to keep you looking fabulous all day long. These primers come in a variety of different formulas – liquid, spray, and powder, so the application methods vary widely. But no matter what formula you choose, make sure to wash and moisturize before and after applying.
