GETTING THE PERFECT BROW

GETTING THE PERFECT BROW

One of my favorite things about working in the beauty industry is being able to help my clients achieve beautiful brows. I’m often asked, “I can’t seem to get my eyebrows to look as glamorous as I’d like, how can I get that perfect shape and arch?” Eyebrow maintenance is truly an art that can take time and experience to master, but I love being able to help my clients learn how to get a beautiful, striking set of brows. So, I’d like to help you start that journey to the perfect brow with these basic brow rules:

Brow Rule #1: Focus on the Symmetry

An important part of getting striking eyes is making sure they are symmetrical. However, this doesn’t mean they have to look exactly the same. Typically, one of the brows will always sit slightly higher than the other, so view them as a set of brow sisters, not brow twins. To ensure yours are looking like a set of similar sisters, take a pencil or nail file and place it on the bridge of your nose, then line it up with the bottom front of the brow. Repeat this on the other side. Look to see if they line up at the same place on both sides of your face. If your brow leans higher or lower on one side, you will need to mark it so you can shade it in later with brow powder to create the length you need. Try to stay away from using an eyebrow pencil when shading, as it isn’t as natural-looking nor does it typically withstand the test of time throughout the day.

Brow Rule #2: Keep Your Eyes on the Middle

The middle of the brow is widely known to be an over-tweezed area of the face. To ensure your brows start at the right spot, take your eyebrow pencil and line it up and down against the ball of your nose (not the nostrils). Your brows should begin right where the pencil lines up in the center of your brows. If it doesn’t start until further down the eye, you should use a brow powder to get it to appear even in the meantime and let that hair grow back in for more natural shaping later.

Brow Rule #3: Throw Away Those Tweezers

If we are working together on a new brow design, it’s a partner effort, and that means you don’t tweeze or trim your brows without me! A brow specialists job is to make your brows look amazing, so in order to get the best results possible, you should set up maintenance appointments every 2-4 weeks to ensure your look is absolutely flawless. To make sure you don’t get tempted, just get rid of those tweezers, you won’t need them anymore, I promise!

Brow Rule #4: Brow Powder is Your Friend

Brow powder provides subtle shading while not being overly harsh in its appearance. When using a powder, start with just a small amount of product onto an angled brow brush. Approach the brow at the arch working back to the middle and evenly through the remainder of the brow. Then, repeat that same action beginning at the arch and working to the end of the brow and to the end of the eye. Be sure to brush the formula evenly to provide the most natural look. We also carry an amazing brow highlighter that will help to define the arch even better. If you haven’t tried it yet, come on in and we will do a consultation with you to demonstration the before and after. It’s incredible!

As you can see, eyebrow design is a passion of mine. I would love to be a part of your journey toward the perfect brow for the shape of your face. Give me a call today to set up your personal brow consultation at Faces by Freda!
